Singles & Doubles Flex

Flex League offers the ultimate flexibility: players schedule their own matches when it’s convenient for them. The league is ideal for those who cannot commit to a set time each week, and play in this league does not affect your NTRP rating.

Singles Flex League

About the league:

1. Provides additional competitive playing opportunities, outside of SATA’s adult league seasons.

2. Is flexible enough to involve those who could not commit to a set playing time each week.

3. Play in this league does not affect your NTRP rating.

Before the match:

A new match is assigned every week. There is a home team player and a visitor assigned for the match. Either player can call or email the other first to establish communication. You may even want to do this early before the date assigned staying ahead of the schedule. If you need to go out of town, you may arrange to play a match early before it is assigned. Once a match is scheduled, if either player cancels that is a default. The tendency in this league has been to be more flexible and reschedule. I will warn you that this may lead to getting behind in matches and having the time run out. Please also consider this may even impact the rest of your flight.

Communication is key for this league to run smoothly. Each of you will furnish an email address and a phone number so that others can reach you. You must check these often and respond promptly to each other. You should contact the coordinator if you are having difficulties in scheduling.

You and your opponent may agree on where and when to play. The home team player may choose the courts, but if you agree to change the location, you should make sure you know which of you will reserve the court and pay the fees. Otherwise, home team players are responsible for reserving a court, paying any court fees for both players, and bringing an unopened can of balls (appropriate for that surface) to the match. The pros at some facilities have asked that all members and guests follow their rules, particularly as it pertains to dress code. There are sometimes rules about shirts, but especially shoes. You must wear tennis shoes appropriate for clay courts.

Match play will follow all USTA rules and regulations.

After the match:

The scores for each match are due to be entered into TennisLink within two weeks from the assigned match date.

Either player can enter the the score. After one player has entered the score, the other player should confirm the score.
